UGUiSU

Some fantastic paper goods by USUiSU. They have so many great patterned tapes it's ridiculous, I will definitely been getting a few since they're such a great way to add character to letters, cards or gifts. Check 'em all out here.

The Makers

The Makers is a photography project by Jennifer Causey who set out to capture images of "makers" in Brooklyn NY doing their thing... designing, making jewelry, ceramics, perfumes, foods, sweets and more. Both the pictures and the subjects are beautiful and inspiring. Get ready to loose a good chunk of your morning looking through this great site.

Scout & Catalogue

"Scout & Catalogue is heavily influenced by the bohemian beach culture of Mexico. We strive to make pieces that remind you of afternoons at secret beaches, sun kissed skin, and all day siestas."

This description from their website sure does seem to sum up the style of these Scout & Catalogue bags. I'm a fan. Click here for more Scout & Catalogue including more bags, lovely scarves and their etsy site.

I'm loving this image and color palette I found over at Creature Comforts. Photo by Johnny Miller.

23 Years And Counting

There just aren't words for how nice it is to travel with/to friends that you've known for as long as I've known these girls. Even though we live apart, getting together feels like coming home.

Catfish

Nina, Caroline and I were lounging around one afternoon in D.C. and decided to watch this movie. Caroline had already seen it, but wanted Nina and I to experience it as well.

Fantastic.

This movie is great. I don't want to say too much about it because it's a film you just have to experience, but trust me and put it in your netflix queue immediately.

Monuments

One of the best ways to explore a new city is on a bike. This worked beautifully in D.C. for seeing all the monuments, the white house and the capitol all in one morning. We used the public bike share program which was perfect for easy pick up and drop off.

We cruised through the city and then along the Washington Memorial Parkway all the way to the adorable city of Georgetown where we ate lunch on a sunny patio and did a little shopping. D.C. is about a month or two ahead of Minneapolis in terms of weather, so it was wonderful to enjoy warm sunny days in a city covered in fresh green and blooming flowers.

It was a really great day.

Good Morning!

Good morning!

I'm back from a fabulous trip to D.C. and a great Easter with my family and I'm attempting to get back into the swing of things. Pictures to come... I just have to quick reorganize my life first. :)

There are just a few nights a year when I travel and have an early flight that King gets dropped off at his doggie babysitter the night before. So I have the apartment to myself.

I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty nice.

Just a bit of time that I don't have to pay attention to the dog and take him out to potty.

Tonight I'm drinking a bit of wine and packing up for my journey to Washington, D.C. early tomorrow morning. Man am I looking forward to a relaxing trip with my girlfriends!

Vacation!!!

It should also be said that I love knowing that King is having fun with a family of five for a few days. Constant attention from three kids and two welcoming adults. It's good for both of us.

Catch you on the flip side!

Perennial Plate

My friend Emily told me about this great website, The Perennial Plate. The site started as an online weekly documentary series dedicated to socially responsible and adventurous eating. Each episode followed chef and activist, Daniel Klein on culinary, agricultural and hunting explorations around Minnesota.

That was the first season and you can watch every episode on the website. I especially love the one from Star Throwers farm since that's where we went to Outstanding in the Field last summer so I have much appreciation for that farm and know personally just how good those cheeses are.

For their second season Perennial Plate is on the road traveling the country and continuing their culinary adventures. This site is pretty great, you should check it out.

Chirp

I hear birds chirping when I wake up in the mornings now. It makes me happy... as do these beautiful bird images by John & Fish.
