How fortunate for Louis that one of his most favorite things in the whole world, eggs, are the main event for one of the major holidays. I mean ham, green beans, dinner rolls and butter all have their places in the the context of celebration throughout the year, but eggs! eggs are really front and center when it comes to Easter. And Louis love eggs.
Last Friday when I walked into my parents house he greeted me warmly, reached for the handle of the refrigerator and said "Auntie, I'mma cwack you an egg." Like I looked like I'd had a long week and could really use one. He offers to crack you and egg like someone else would offer to crack you a beer. I thanked him for his offer, but said I wasn't hungry at the moment. What a sweet boy.
You guys, two and a half year olds are the best. So often when I'm with him and crazy little things come out of his mouth or he does a certain dance move, gives me a spontaneous kiss on the cheek while I'm reading him a book, runs toward me for a hug and puts his head on my shoulder, stomps around wearing my shoes or covers his mouth with his little chubby palm while he laughs at something I'm doing, I think my love for him will just swallow me whole.
Anyway, he did some egg dying with Grandma and Grandpa last week and here are some pictures of that event. Photos by Grandpa.
